During this week-long adventure you will learn one of the most popular healing arts in the world, Reiki, and explore the world of Animal Communication, all while vacationing in one of the most beautiful vacation spots in the world. Oh... and did I mention the award winning horseback riding on the beaches and in the jungles of Costa Rica? Yes, you should read that last part again.

What is in store for you when you join us in December*:
Day 1 - Arrive in Costa Rica
Relax in your air conditioned private transfer and take in the wonderful views as you descend from San Jose International airport to your beach front hotel in Playa Hermosa on the stunning Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.
Day 2 - Learn the Most Popular Healing Art in the World!
Start the day with a beautiful breakfast under the giant mango tree, meet your horses, and learn the popular healing art of Reiki!
Reiki, translated from Japanese as "Universal Life Force", is already used in clinics, private practices and hospitals around the globe, people are waking up to the amazing benefits that Reiki can provide.
Developed as a healing art in early 20th century Japan, Reiki is a holistic, non-invasive technique that heals on all levels of body, mind and spirit. In addition it can enhance other modalities of healing, both traditional and alternative, alleviate pain and has been proven to reduce stress in both humans and animals.
With this unique style of energy healing you can:
- Alleviate stress, fears, worry and frustrations
- Assist the body in cleansing different types of toxins
- Help people break unwanted habits or conditions like smoking, overeating and alcoholism
- Work on anything from your pets, house plants and even your computer!

On Day 2 you will discover exactly what Reiki is, how to use it to heal yourself and others and be certifed and attuned to Reiki I certification..

And everyone who attends the workshop gets a full Reiki healing session so you can experience the amazing power of Reiki for yourself. Through Anna's fun, powerful and nurturing style she will guide you to your full potential and help you discover what you might never even have thought possible! Whether you haven't worked with Reiki before, feel it's time to take the next step or you want to take your Reiki practice to the next level, this is the perfect location to begin your journey of Reiki.

Day 3 - Morning - Animal communication – Just a belief away!
Have you ever wished you could speak with your animal companions? I mean actually have a conversation with them. Not possible you say? Well, perhaps you just might change your mind after day 2 of your Costa Rican adventure.
Anna will introduce you to the amazing world of Animal Communication. Through demonstrations, lectures, and hands-on exercises, you will explore the amazing world of inter-species, telepathic communication, or "animal communication." Using your inherit gifts, you will discover how to telepathically connect and communicate with a being of another species. This two-way communication is accomplished not only with words, but with images, feelings, thoughts, emotions and other intuitive senses.
Afternoon – Jungle Spa Ride
After meeting up for a delicious local lunch at the river, you will be treated to a stunning rain forest trail ride with your equine partner. Your guides will show you all the amazing flora and fauna along the way, until you arrive at your destination - a beautiful natural spring in the heart of the jungle. You might even spot a few monkeys along the way. There you will enjoy the natural volcanic spa mud that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and with photos you will treasure forever. This is so much fun and only your first ride!
Discovery Horse Tours appeared in the world wide advertising campaign by the Costa Rican Tourist board (ICT) as the 2013 face of Horseback riding in Costa Rica! And after your ride on day 3, you'll know why.
Day 4 - Reiki; Energy Healing for Horses.
One of Energy healing's most effective uses is in the healing of animals. Horses, and animals in general, are great clients for energy work because they don't have any preconceived notions or skepticism that often get in the way of human receptivity. An animal is simply present to the experience. If it likes it, it likes it and if it doesn't it leaves: Simple as that.
We have found that most horses love Reiki and other forms of energy work. They will quite often relax into the healing session, lower their heads, keeping a leg cocked in a relaxed position and even close their eyes as they enjoy the sensation. Many times you can even hear their stomachs gurgle as the healing energy flows through them, clearing energy blocks as it goes. And when they have had enough, they will often let you know by "waking up" and sometimes even walking away.
On day 4 you will learn how to:
- Ask for "permission" from your animal companions
- Set up a safe energy healing session
- Scan your horse's body
- Locate the energy centers of the body, known as the chakras
- Listen to your horse and read his body gestures
- Recognize the duration of sessions
- Liaise with friends & clients
- Share experiences and stories to further enhance your practice
Anna will show you the most effective way to apply your practice and your skills to the horse. This is also a great opportunity to review your skills if you are a little rusty or maybe feel like you need a little more instruction. Improve your skill set, increase your confidence, and heal some horses!
Day 5 - The back country ride is a must!
Discovery the real Costa Rica as you leave the ranch and ride on the old ox trails to the village of Montilimar. Here you will experience true village life, with a visit to the Quiros family butterfly garden, you will enjoy fresh squeezed sugar cane, harvested the old fashioned way! From there you pass the school and the old bull ring to the beautiful rural church. Heading home, you will descend into the rio Turabalita as you wind your way back to the ranch. After a wonderful river side lunch, you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon on the beach or floating in the pool with a cocktail.
Day 6. Time for a horse free day
Take a trip to the incredible conservation project Rainmaker or you can pick something to tick from your bucket list. Ziplining, Surfing, Croc tour or even a session of Yoga.. This place is like heaven on earth. Enjoy the natural rainforest and if you are feeling brave you can take on the suspension bridges, safely connecting the rainforest canopy this will take your breath away. Swim in the waterfalls and look out for monkeys, sloths,and a whole abundance of other animals. Just be aware that the day may slip away faster than you realized, so take it all in!
Day 7 - Tropical Beach Ride
Anyone for a genuine Costa Rican beach ride!?! Quite honestly, nothing compares to this. Our final day is filled with deserted beaches, flocks of wild scarlett macaw parrots and endless palm trees. A once in a lifetime ride, with the option to strip off the saddles and take your horse in the ocean either on line or bareback. We promise you, this is a day you will never forget.
Day 8 - Departure
Heading back to San Jose in your air con private transfer, the sadness you may feel as you head back home can easily be assuaged by getting busy planning your next trip with us!

This price includes all transfers to and from the airport, to the ranch and back each day, accommodation at the beach front hotel Tortuga Del Mar in Playa Hermosa, if you prefer a different hotel we can make recommendations, but there maybe an additional charge depending on the cost per night of your particular hotel choice. It also includes a light buffet style breakfast, and a hearty local lunch (evening meals are not included). Prices DO NOT include round trip airfare to and from Costa Rica.
